Our Rooms > Cats

The Cats room caters for children from eighteen months up to the age of three years. The children are cared for on a ratio of 1:3 or 1:4 depending on age. Staff follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and all of the children have their own personal profiles which log development and observations. This pack will then follow the child throughout the setting and on to school.

You will find that the ages in our rooms over lap, this is done to reflect that children develop at different rates.

"Play underpins all development and learning for young children. Most children play spontaneously, although some may need adult support, and it is through play that they develop intellectually, creatively, physically, socially and emotionally."
(EYFS 2008)

A Unique child

Imaginative play enables children to develop experiences, it encourages language development and helps the children to learn better.

Positive relationships

Your child's key person will play a big part in your child's development. They will ensure that your child is meeting their full potential and will keep you informed about how you can continue to support their development at home.

Your child's development is paramount and it is therefore extremely important that their environment supports their learning. Observations will be carried out on your child to establish their interests and staff will then expand and challenge your child's learning through this.

Learning and Development

The children learning will be broken down to cover six areas of learning which are: Personal , Social and Emotional development; Knowledge and Understanding of the world; Physical development; Problem solving, Reasoning and Numeracy; Creative development and Communication, Language and literacy.
